It started off as a normal sunny Sunday with the only thing unusual was that I was off work for the day. So myself and my partner packed a lunch, our husky, my drone and drove to Ardmore for a cliff walk.
It was such a beautiful day sitting on a wooded bench right out on the cliffs. Here I was flying my drone around and looking at the ship wreck when a man approached me to let me know there was a lot of basking sharks 500 meters past my location. With that I quickly landed my drone, packed it and very very quickly made my way along the path to the well.
To my astonishment there was 11 huge basking sharks in the water and a gang of kayakers from Ardmore Adventures in the water with the sharks.
It was really a once in a lifetime opportunity to film the 2nd biggest fish in the world and I am so happy to have kayaks in the water to show perspective.
I meet the kayakers coming back to land and this is what Christine Rosalyn had to say for the experience
“It was exciting and scary at the same time”
To top off the whole experience the film has been shared on Joe.ie and The Irish Independent
